Competitions

Competition climbing is a large part of my life. Throughout the year, I practice 5x a week for bouldering, lead, and speed. Although I mainly boulder and lead climb, I have begun to branch out into speed climbing. I want to be as balanced out as possible in competition climbing.

The first part of the year, September- February, is bouldering season. February- July is lead and speed. Because of the layout, it is easy to train and specialize in one discipline for the season. Youth Worlds is usually in late August through early September,  which allows for further fine tuning of skills after Youth Nationals.

Competition climbing is great. I get to meet many new people who share a common passion, whom I wouldn’t be able to if I didn’t compete. As well as that, it is awesome to travel across the world to compete with and against other climbers.

I want to say a special thanks to all of Vertical World Climbing Team for being a part of my family for the last 9 years of my life. Everyone on team is super supportive and they all play a huge part of my life. Also, I want to thank all of the incredible coaches who have helped shape Vertical World; B-Hops, Tyson, Meg, Ross, Alex, Aran, and a few others have made this team what it is today.
